Well the weekend started on Friday with a 6 and a half hour drive to Manchester, oh the joy...
Manchester, being where my office is located and the venue for an "End of Year Awards" night that was due to start within an hour of us arriving. Needless to say, we were late.
It was a good night, from what I remember... being dragged from the venue to the hotel by Aid whilst trying to construct a sentence together. After about the 4th time i conceded to the fact that I was indeed slurring my words and talking complete bollocks! Back at the hotel bar, I managed a further baileys before falling into bed and passing out to the sound of my voice saying "the room keeps spinning". My saving grace when I awoke to the most god awful sound that is Aids alarm was that my bosses wife was as pissed, if not more, than me and had thrown up - superb!
Saturday brought a half eaten fried breakfast followed by a trip to the office, boring, to sort something out. It was then onto lunch with my boss, his missis (who was trying the "I only had 3 glasses of wine" routine along with the "someone must have spiked my drink" get out) their ickle daughter, his mum, her mate, Dave and Ali from work oh and of course me and Aid. The food was pants, Aid had an additional hair in his that he hadn't requested and given that he was sat next to Ali who too is a baldy its a pretty safe bet that it wasn't one from either of them.
After lunch I dragged Aid the through the whole of the Trafford Centre to find a turquoise bag for the wedding we were going to on the Sunday, in the last shop I bought a brown one!!
We then drove to Lancaster, checked in to the hotel and was in bed by 9, I was soundo before the Big Brother music had finished.
Sunday brought Richard and Rachels wedding (Richard works with me) I felt a rush of pride seeing him up there, ah bless. The wedding was lovely, they both looked gorgeous and it was a thoroughly good day. My boss and his wife turned up for the evening but after consuming a bottle of wine I was rubbish. Snuck off about half past midnight and drove home on Monday after a lovely breakfast. Furthermore, it only took 4 hours to get back, impressive......
Well all that remains to be said is good luck to Richard & Rachel, i'm sure you'll have a wonderful life together.
